LYNETTE TEN KROODEN

Born in 1955 in Pretoria and completed a BA Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria in 1978.

The artist works in oils and mixed media and uses glazes to allow the play of the light to shine through the bottom layers of the paint.

In 1995 she was commissioned to paint a mural on the Fiji Islands. She has held 13 one-man exhibitions in South Africa, participated in numerous group shows and is represented in many corporate and private collections.

Lately her work has focused on solitaire rocks and symbols from ancient times inscribed on rocks and dry riverbeds.

She has been invited in 2004 to do research on the old city of Petra and on petroglyphs in Jordan and has had a successful exhibition at the Forisite Gallery in Amman.

Lynette ten Krooden lives and works in Pretoria. She is a lecturer at the Pretoria Technikon.
